Have you ever seen sugarcane harvest before? Here in Louisiana, it’s the northernmost place in the world that it’s commercially grown! 450,000 acres are grown here. Harvest season is 100 days long and produces 35-40 TONS of cane per acre! 75% of the cane stalk is water so it’s very heavy to harvest, but the end result yields about 7500 pounds of sugar.
